Blame it on the curries

"We play so much; we spend 300 nights a year out of our own house either travelling the world or at hotels preparing for games in England. Touring Pakistan and India are probably the hardest you can do, because it is not easy to take your family away to that part of the world. You spend a long time away from home."

I am flabbergasted that a professional, that too of Trescothick's calibre would make a statement like this. India and Pakistan are not easy places to tour? Well that's just too bad isn't it? This is a reflection of a deeper English malaise which still looks upon the subcontinent as a semi barbaric place filled with heathens. Enraged is a mild way to describe the way I feel about this rubbish. What I find even more irascible is that Cricinfo has quoted him without offering an opinion on his thoughts. C'mon Amit Verma or Dileep Premachandran: what do you guys think about this?
