tiddly winks
And in a predictable outburst, many of Australia's past players are blaming their resounding defeat and public "chaddi uttaar-ing" to the fact that the Australians were too "nice" and did not use their strength which is to be "aggressive" and "play hard"
Whatever the hell that means. You lost because you were outplayed by a team which was better consistently over 4 days. By not being "aggressive" I think the ex players are saying that the "pack of wild dogs" (not my line, call Peter Roebuck!), didn't resort to their usual tactics of abuse, sledging and that ridiculous term "mental disintegration".
India might well be brushed aside at Adelaide and Ponting's Pack could resume their strutting, but the reactions one has seen after this loss go to show how fragile the psyche is of many sections of the Australian media and players. No one likes being rattled but even the best are challenged and then finally cast aside...something they have to be cognizant of.
Oh and if Australia resume their "aggressive" tactics at Adelaide they must also realise that "motherfuc*er" is the same as "big mo*key" and not go crying to Uncle Mike again. You think I am being inflammatory? No. I am only being "aggressive".

Mate, I just finished watching a horrible horrible 20Twenty match. I didn't realise how low cricket was stooping to get that format included in the tour series... did you see it? My God! Complete with thumbing pop music and on field microphones for the batters. Plus, I swear India were trying to throw the match. There is no feasible way they could have lost that badly unless some shadowy underworld figure was pulling some strings...
Westy: Thanks for the off topic comment. I was (fortunately?) stuck at my office desk so didn't see the game but I am sure India played in the inimitably unpredictable way Indians play. As for throwing the game...its happened before and can't say it won't happen again. From Azhar to Mark Waugh to Hansie Cronje to Warne...money is a hard thing to resist.
See if you can find youtube footage of a terrible dropped catch from Harbhajan Singh (he ran into a team mate). India were bowled out for 74 runs... Australia still had 9 wickets and 9 runs remaining when India bowled a wide to tick over the 75th run... man I miss the tests already.
westy: uhh...thanks for the update (?)
mate... ahhh you sound pretty bitter over there... no but really India is a very good team, and I'm totally comfortable with saying that as an Aussie. they really gave our team a run for its money.
definitely cemented their place as the second best test cricketing team, as Punter said ;) congratulations :D
Lx: you've got it all wrong dude. To give you some idea, I've been a worshipper of Australian cricket for over 15 years now. I can safely say I know more about Australian cricket and its cricketers than most Australians. However, all that Steve Waugh built and left behind, the respect he managed to garner for himself and for the baggy green has been rendered completely redundant by Ricky Ponting and Co's uncouth behaviour.
As an Australian cricket fan, you should be feeling distraught that a team so respected and loved has fallen from grace in this manner. Mcgrath came close to achieving this with his boorishness but with Ponting at the helm, it seems there really are no boundaries any more.
As for your extremely insipid attempt at jibes, this isn't about which the best team is in terms of cricketing ability: that is fairly obvious. However, what Ponting and fans like you seem to miss out on is the fact that it takes a lot more than just ability on the field to be called a great player or a great team. And that's the reason Brett Lee will go down in my books as a great bowler, a gentleman and someone who today stands out like the last beacon of hope for an otherwise rude, boorish and noxious team.
ok im not saying that i in the least bit support all this tomfoolery thats been going on, nor do i support ponting, symonds + co's many comments ... nor am i taking sides in the 'monkey' fiasco... but with all due respect... i think you're blowing it a weeee bit out of proportion. surely at the end of the day its still primarily about the game, mate.
Lx: yes it is about the game. Something which Ponting & Co don't seem to grasp yet! Anyways Ponting's learnt his lesson: never be a snitch. Lets move on now.
